Memory cards for the Ricoh GR: SD or microSD
The GR III and GR IIIx take full-size SD cards; the GR IV and GR IVx take the much smaller microSD. Neither fits the other. Paying extra for a faster card gains you nothing on any of them.

What to watch out for
microSD / microSDHC / microSDXC card (UHS-I)
- The GR IV switched to microSD. Full-size SD cards from a GR III or GR IIIx will not fit.
- UHS-I only. A faster card gains nothing.
- About 53GB of internal memory means you can shoot a full day without a card.
Full-size SD / SDHC / SDXC card (UHS-I)
- The GR III and GR IIIx take full-size SD. The GR IV and GR IVx take microSD — your cards do not carry over.
- Both are UHS-I. A faster card gains nothing.
- Internal memory is about 2GB, so you need a card.
